Chicago After Dark
Chicago becomes another place after dark: quieter, stranger, and briefly theatrical. These photographs follow artificial light across wet streets, lakefront roads, towers, and the spaces between destinations.
The city in this sequence is not presented as a skyline or a checklist of landmarks. It is encountered at street level, through rain, reflected light, distant windows, and the pauses between one place and another. Familiar buildings remain visible, but atmosphere is allowed to change their scale and meaning.
The photographs move between motion and stillness. Passing vehicles become bands of light while architecture holds its position. Empty streets and illuminated rooms suggest human presence without resolving it. Together, the frames form a nocturnal portrait of Chicago built from observation rather than spectacle.
